Performing Arts Rehabilitation Center Is First in Region
Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network recently opened a new outpatient physical therapy site at 800 Eaton Avenue in Bethlehem that specializes in rehabilitation for performing artists. Good Shepherd Physical Therapy – Bethlehem/Performing Arts Rehabilitation Center provides general orthopedic physical therapy care for adults and children. Its specialized therapy services for performing artists make it the first facility of this type in the region.
The 3,000-square-foot facility includes private patient care evaluation and treatment rooms, a sound-proof room for musicians and a dance floor with full-length mirrors. Services include physical therapy with an orthopedic specialist, hand therapy, Kinesio taping, splinting, pain management and headache therapy, as well as treatment for a variety of conditions, such as arthritis, sprains and strains, joint replacement, neurological disorders and fibromyalgia.

“We believe the most effective rehabilitation program is one that addresses the specific needs, interests and values of each person,” says Catherine Dara, PT, DPT, OCS, STC, site manager. “We understand the unique needs of performing artists, including dancers, musicians and fine artists, as well as athletes, injured workers and individuals recovering from surgery or disease who want to get back to their work and lives as soon as possible.”
The new site is one of more than 20 Good Shepherd outpatient physical therapy facilities located in 8 eastern Pennsylvania counties.
