Local Cleaning Company Runs Soap Drive to Clean the World

Five local franchises of The Maids, a national home cleaning service, are partnering with Clean the World in order to help stop global occurrences of hygiene-related deaths. The participating Maids franchises are located in Medway, MA, New London and South Connecticut, West Warwick, Rhode Island, and Bethlehem, PA. The Maids are asking patrons, employees, and all others to donate new, unwrapped bars of soap to their offices. The drive will last from October 15th to the 26th.

Each of the participating Maids locations will have a donation station in their offices (which are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The Maids are also asking customers to leave donations on the counter tops of their homes during their regularly scheduled cleanings for pick up.  “We try to make it as simple as possible. Most folks use us because their time is limited,” says Jena Touray, of The Maids of Medway, “We’d like to make it easy for people to give back”.

Clean the World is a non-profit foundation that takes donations of soap and shampoo products to impoverished people in order to prevent hygiene-related illness. You can learn more about Clean the World through their website, www.cleantheworld.org.
