Bethlehem Native Competes for Baseball Dream Job

Gordon Mack, a 24-year-old video editor, is one of 50 finalists to live in MLB Fan Cave.

A Bethlehem native currently living in New York City is one of 50 finalists in a contest to get a sports fan’s dream job, one that would require him to eat, breathe, sleep and, mostly, watch baseball.

Gordon Mack, a 24-year-old video editor and Phillies fan, is bidding to win a full season living in the “MLB Fan Cave,” a home in Greenwich Village, where the contest winner will watch all 2,430 regular season baseball games, as well as every postseason game.

From the Fan Cave, the winner is obligated to share viewpoints on baseball and pop culture on Facebook, Twitter and MLBFanCave.com, a blog connected to the official website of Major League Baseball, mlb.com.

The Fan Cave, and the winner, is also regularly featured on the MLB Network on cable television. During the season, the Fan Cave also hosts visits from players, baseball personalities and celebrities as well as parties and musical performances throughout the baseball season.

Wearing his Phillies cap, Mack rapped his way through a two-minute video describing why the fans should vote for him to live in the Fan Cave, including a demonstration of him balancing a chair on his chin, which, he admitted, has nothing to do with baseball.

Voting in the contest ends on February 22.
