This sale features a number of rare valuable books. The most interesting is a very rare, limited-edition collection of engravings by master artist Hiroshige authored by Yone Noguchi. Only 300 copies of this edition were for sale commemorating the 2600th anniversary of the founding of the Japanese Empire. The book was published just months before Japan entered World War II. It includes tipped-in wood engravings, collotypes and plates in color and half-tone, many printed on traditional rice paper and all in excellent condition. Original presentation slipcase with genuine ivory clasps holds the two volumes.
