Knit to Grow at the Library
We're looking for knitters to help spread the word about this latest service while supporting our Room to Grow campaign to build a new Children's Center. How? Knit to Grow!

e-Books are the next best thing and Bethlehem Area Public Library has them. Now, we are looking for local knitters to help spread the word about this latest service while supporting our Room to Grow campaign to build a new Children’s Center at the Library. How? Knit to Grow!
Erin Poore, Head of Information Services, and Chase Gobble, a reference technician, came up with the way to promote BAPL’s new downloadable e-Book service and raise funds for our Room to Grow campaign at the same time. They are looking to tap the talents of local knitters to create cases for Kindles, Nooks, iPads, iPods and cell phones, then donate them to the Library to be sold.
To kick things off, the following website patterns may inspire you:
iPad case pattern
Kindle case pattern
A smartphone cover pattern
For knitters who want to design their own fabulous creations, various device dimensions, according to the manufacturers, are readily available online. Nook, Kindle and iPad dimensions follow:
Nook: 6½”H x 5”W x ½"D
Kindle: 6½”H x 4½”W x 11/32”D
iPad1: 9 9/16”H x 7½”W x ½"D
iPad2: 9½"W x 7 5/16"W x 11/32"D
