Popular Holiday Greens Sale This Weekend

Burnside Crafters sell wreaths to raise funds for Historic Bethlehem Partnership

The annual Holiday Greens Sale at Burnside Plantation will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5 at 1461 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem.

Admission is free, but donations to the Historical Bethlehem Partnership will be accepted. For 18 years this holiday sale has offered an extensive selection of fresh greens such as wreaths, swags and bouquets to decorate home and hearth. All pieces are assembled by the Burnside Crafters, a core group of 15 volunteers who create items that are then sold to help raise funds for Burnside Plantation.

"We order simple, fresh wreaths from a local greenhouse and embellish them
with pinecones, ribbons, nuts and extra greens to create one-of-a-kind pieces,"
said Marian Lee, the volunteer who organized this year's sale.

More than 100 items will be available, but the volunteers say the greens
usually sell out quickly.

"This fundraiser assists Bethlehem in the preservation of 250-plus years of
rich history and culture, including national historical landmarks, buildings and
artifacts," said LoriAnn Wukitsch, vice president and managing director of the Historical Bethlehem Partnership.
