Cambiata, the Lehigh Valley's own early music ensemble, is performing Saturday morning, May 5, at 10 am at the Ice House, Sand Island, Bethlehem. The show, "All Around the Maypole," is part of Mock Turtle Marionette's Saturday's Child series. Cost for the show is $7.50 and includes a special Maypole dance that will be taught by dance instructor Barbara Pearson.
Performing in costume and playing period instruments, Cambiata will transport you and your children to another time and place, with songs and dance tunes that usher in spring. Selections are from 16th and 17th century Europe and are performed on lute, viols, recorders, and krumhorns. Cambiata members include: Sara Cox, Ruth Maletz, Ilse Zinnes, and Bill Thatcher. Joining Cambiata for this performance is soprano vocalist Melissa Walters.
All ages are welcome. For more information on the music and the dance, contact Bill Thatcher, 610-252-3203, or visit http://www.cambiata.org/
