The Allentown Band comes to Easton for
the first performance in over 20 years
The Allentown Band on October 21st at 3:00 p.m
will be performing at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Easton. This is a
public concert with tickets available for $12 for Seniors 65 and older; $15 for

A prominent feature of nineteenth-century musical
Americana is the concert band, and the Allentown Band has, for almost two
hundred years, kept that tradition alive. Drawn from within a fifty-mile radius
of the Lehigh Valley, the band’s musicians, as different as their backgrounds
may be, share one common goal: to create and preserve concert band music at a
level of excellence rarely heard from a community band.

Performing as a member of the brass section of the
Allentown Band is Easton native William (Bill) Curnow, retired Music Teacher
from Wilson High School and a long time member of Trinity Easton.
The Allentown Band is under the direction of Ronald
Demkee, Conductor and have a rich history of performing in the Lehigh Valley
and venues throughout the world. As a
large size concert band with over 60 musicians playing inside the church and
amplification will not be necessary to hear the rich harmonies and bright
sounds of the talented musicians.

Current music
selected for this performance are selections by John Phillips Sousa, Von Suppe,
George Gershwin and a grand combination of orchestra and organ for the finale
to Saint-Saens “Organ” Symphony. Performing as the special guest on the Organ
is Dale Grandfield, Director of Music at Trinity Easton.

Church is located at 234 Spring Garden St, in Historic Downtown Easton. Free Public Parking is available in the lot
behind the church accessible through Sitgreaves St., as well as several lots on
North Third Street and on the city streets.
