The plot revolves around four guests who find themselves snowed in at Monkswell Manor. They come across a newspaper detailing the account of a recent murder in London.
The appearance of a strange traveler, a phone call from the police and the arrival of a detective on skis puts the guests on edge, but it is not until one of them is found dead that they realize the murderer is among them. To set a trap, they attempt to reenact the murder, steering the action and the audience toward a famously suspenseful end.

The audience is asked at the beginning of each show to NEVER tell anyone about the ending, so that all audiences can enjoy trying to solve the murder.
