Whitehall, Pa. – March 25, 2013 – In support of Red Cross Month and to help those in need, Lehigh Valley Mall, in partnership with the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley, will host a community blood drive on Saturday, March 30 from 11:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Event activities will include a mobile blood drive, a raffle, children activities and games, and an exciting meet and greet with American Red Cross’ mascot, Scrubby Bear. Attendees will also learn about the many programs and services offered by the organization for those interested in getting involved.

“Red Cross Month and this blood drive is the perfect opportunity for people to learn more about the America Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley and the services we offer the community,” said Polly Patterson, American Red Cross regional executive. “From becoming a volunteer to developing a household preparation plan to donating blood, there are several ways for people to become involved with the organization. We are so grateful to the Lehigh Valley Mall for hosting this event and shining a spotlight on our the American Red Cross.”
In 2012, the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley collected more than 1,000 units of blood to help save lives – statistically, one unit of blood can help save the lives of up to three people. Additionally, the organization responded to 98 disaster incidents, provided assistance to more than 500 individuals and 140 families who experienced everything from house fires to hurricanes, and trained nearly 9,000 individuals to become Red Cross volunteers.
