"Arts High School presents a premiere dance event, Dance Quilt"
The acclaimed dance department at The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts will present their premiere dance concert, Dance Quilt on May 17th & 18th at the Morris R. Williams Center for the Arts at Lafayette College. There will be evening performances on the 17th & 18th at 7:30pm and a matinee performance on the 18th at 2:00pm.
It is hard to imagine when attending this concert, that you are watching high school performers, as you experience the exceptional skill level and performance quality.
Dance Quilt is a formal concert of faculty and guest choreographed works, and is the culminating event of a year long rehearsal and performance course. All dance students audition for and are placed with a member of the dance faculty who create original concert length work or stage existing choreography. Students are educated and involved, in numerous ways, from the casting through performance, in the creative process of making a dance, producing a dance concert, and participating as performers. Students also have the opportunity to audition for guest choreographers whose rehearsals are held after school.
Concert Director, Kimberly Maniscalco, defines Dance Quilt as, “An eclectic and colorful performance of professional quality that beautifully highlights the varied talents of our students and faculty.”
Tickets for Dance Quilt are $15 Adult, $10 Seniors, $8 Students. Tickets can be purchased at www.charterarts.org.
