Remembering Dorney Park Speedway Reunion at America On Wheels Museum

America On Wheels Museum will be reliving Dorney Park Speedway, the once famous Allentown racetrack. The day's activities will include memory sharing, driver interviews and an autograph session. Racing memorabilia will also be on site. Four new drivers will also be inducted into the "Hallway of Fame." All drivers welcome.
Did you know that Dorney Park Speedway was built in 1938 as an attraction on the grounds of the Dorney Park? The 1/10th of a mile, which seated 1200-1500, was originally intended to be a dirt midget track, and the midgets raced there throughout the 1940s. The track was paved in its second year of service and the full-size stock cars began racing at Dorney in the 1950s. In later years, the track continued to offer weekly Sportsman and Late Model racing until it closed in 1986.
