Take-Back Prescription Drug Collection

Bethlehem residents can dispose of outdated and unwanted prescription medication safely as part of the third annual national Take-Back Day project.

Medications can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at:

  • Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, 2930 Airport Road, Bethlehem
  • 2285 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem. (Bethlehem Police will collect medications inside the main entrance off Schoenersville Road.)
  • Bethlehem Township Police Department, 2900 Farmersville Road, Bethlehem

Police will collect prescription and over-the-counter medications including liquid products and creams in containers. Syringes will not be accepted.

Officials say keeping outdated orunwanted medicines at home poses a danger to children, teens and older adults.

In 2010, Lehigh County police collected almost 193 pounds of pills and capsules. In April 2011, the collection took in almost 1,008 pounds of medications.
