February 28: LEPOCO Annual Dinner Welcomes Win Without War Advocacy Director Stephen Miles
LEPOCO will host its annual dinner in celebration of another year of advocating for peace and justice in the Lehigh Valley.

On Saturday, February 28 the Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern (LEPOCO) will host its annual dinner in celebration of another year of advocating for peace and justice in the Lehigh Valley. This year’s featured speaker will be Stephen Miles, the advocacy director for Win Without War, a Washington D.C.-based national peace organization. He will speak on “Fighting for Peace in the 21st Century.”
The event takes place at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2540 Center St., Bethlehem, at 5:30 pm, Saturday, February 28, with pre-dinner music and appetizers at 5:00. Immediately following dinner, there is a full evening of programming featuring Miles’ talk, discussion, steering committee elections, and the art raffle drawing.
Win Without War is a national organization founded in 2002 in response to the war in Iraq. Today, the organization challenges harmful war policies and holds the nation’s leaders accountable. Win Without War is currently working to bring our troops home from Afghanistan, rein in wasteful spending at the Pentagon, prevent disastrous war with Iran, and protect and defend the rule of law in national security and foreign policy.

This yearly fundraising event supports various community events such as inviting speakers to the Lehigh Valley, assisting international peace delegations, organizing marches, vigils, and walks for peace, and increasing public awareness of peace and justice concerns.
The LEPOCO annual dinner is open to the public and tickets range from $5 to $75, with limited income options available. A regular adult ticket is $35. Dinner reservations must be made in advanced and can be done by calling the LEPOCO Peace Center at 610-691-8730. Program-only tickets are available at the door.
