GLVADA Renames Scholarship Fund in Honor of Immediate Past President Keith Muir

The Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association (GLVADA) today announced the renaming of its longstanding student scholarship program to the Keith Muir Scholarship Fund, honoring the life, leadership, and lasting contributions of Immediate Past President Keith Muir.

As Vice President of Star GMC for more than a decade, and as a dedicated GLVADA board member and Chair of the 2024 Lehigh Valley Auto Show, Muir played a pivotal role in advancing GLVADA’s mission and strengthening the region’s automotive community. Renaming the scholarship fund ensures his commitment to workforce development, technical education, and community service will continue to inspire future generations.

In addition to renaming the scholarship program, the GLVADA Board of Directors has approved a memorial donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that honors the sacrifice of America's first responders, military members, and Gold Star families by providing mortgage-free homes, housing assistance and veteran support programs.

"Keith understood that our responsibility extends far beyond selling vehicles," said Dan Moyer, Executive Director of GLVADA. "He believed in giving back, supporting our communities and investing in young people who represent the future of our industry. Renaming our scholarship program in Keith's honor ensures his commitment to future generations will continue for years to come. That commitment is reflected not only in the Keith Muir Scholarship Fund, but in the many educational and charitable initiatives our association proudly supports throughout the year."

The Keith Muir Scholarship Fund continues GLVADA's longstanding commitment to supporting students pursuing careers in the automotive industry by providing:

• Up to 10 scholarships annually for students pursuing education in Auto Mechanics or Auto Body & Paint
• $1,000 scholarships per semester for qualifying students enrolled in automotive education programs
• $500 Tool Scholarships for graduates entering the automotive workforce directly
• Eligibility for applicants residing within 50 miles of the Lehigh Valley

Students are selected through a competitive application and interview process led by the GLVADA Scholarship Committee. Recipients also volunteer during the annual Lehigh Valley Auto Show, with proceeds from the event helping support the scholarship program and its continued investment in local students.

The Keith Muir Scholarship Fund is part of GLVADA’s broader commitment to investing in the next generation of automotive professionals and community impact. Through initiatives including the annual Automotive Technology Competition, Cars & Kids Because We Care Foundation and Community Gala, Children’s Christmas Luncheon and School-to-Work Program, the association continues to create meaningful pathways for students while supporting charitable efforts across the region.

The name change also includes a new identity logo for the Keith Muir Scholarship Fund, designed to reflect the spirit of the program and its mission to educate, inspire and drive the future of the automotive industry.
