ALLENTOWN,PA - Star of the Day Spotlight Cabaret FROM THE HEART was created to raise money for Adoptions From The Heart’s Birth Parents Fund during National Adoption Awareness Month.

Star of the Day’s own Entertainment Coordinator, Andrea Cartagena, knows all too well the importance of organization’s such as Adoptions From The Heart. Andrea became a mother in June 2014 when her son was placed in her arms as a result of an emergency adoption placement. After learning she could not get pregnant, Andrea and her husband turned to adoption to fulfill their family dreams. They were not candidates for international adoption so they turned their hearts state-side. They enlisted the help of Adoptions From The Heart and put their story out there in hopes they would be chosen by a birth mother. They were. But, as fate would have it, the adoption fell through and their hope for a family was shattered. But not for long. She picked up the pieces of her broken heart and put themselves back out there. And it was then they were chosen. They received a phone call on a Sunday evening and less than 2 days later Andrea was holding her son. Her family was complete.

Andrea’s story is an important one to know and share. For years, adoption has been a taboo subject. But for some adoptions are dreams coming true. Dreams for the parents and the children. Please come and hear Andrea’s full story on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 8pm at Allentown Brew Works for a very special Spotlight Cabaret ‘From The Heart’. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Adoptions From The Heart Birth Parents Fund. All tickets to the event are $10. They can be purchased online at www.StaroftheDay.org or at the door (cash only.)
