Lehigh Valley Real Estate Data First Nine Months of 2014

While median home prices in the Lehigh Valley held relatively steady at $170,000 (+ 0.1) in the first nine months of 2014, homes sales decreased 5.8 percent to 4,792, compared to 5,089 homes sold in the first nine months of 2013, according to the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, REALTORS’® HomExpert Market Report©.

In the Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton Area (ABE), homes sales decreased 10.1 percent to 1,483 in 2014 from 1,649 in 2013. The median sales price increased 5.1 percent to $124,000 in the first nine months of 2014 from $118,000 the previous year. Homes stayed on the market average of 77 days, up from 75 days in 2013.

Bethlehem posted the highest median sales price at 160,000 a 3.2 percent increase compared to the same time last year. While Allentown posted the largest decrease in home sales in the ABE area, dropping to 668 in the first nine months of 2014 compared to 749 the same time last year.
