Metropolitan Ignatios of Madagascar on Wednesday, June 26 at 7pm

Metropolitan Ignatios  will visit St. Nicholas Cathedral Wednesday June 26th at 7 PM to do a presentation on the Orthodox Mission in Madagascar.

All are invited. His Eminence has been a missionary for over 25 years. Metropolitan Ignatios is one of the most remarkable bishops of the Orthodox Church today. Before being elected Metropolitan of Madagascar he did missionary work in Calcutta, India. He is consumed by a desire to serve the poorest and neediest of humanity. During his 14 year tenure in India he oversaw the construction of nine churches, an orphanage for girls, seven free-clinics offering medical and pharmacy services, one free-clinic for dentistry, and five elementary schools. Now in his ninth year as Bishop of Madagascar, he is pursuing similar goals.
