A list of items that will be accepted, along with fees where applicable, is listed on the Recycling Bureau webpage.
The city’s Recycling Bureau holds electronic recycling drives twice per year, to give Bethlehem residents the chance to get rid of old or broken electronics goods in a safe and environmentally friendly way, said Renee Hawk, deputy director of the bureau.

“We get a really good response,” Hawk said, adding that people often find “they have no other way to get rid of" old electronics goods, which are not accepted by most refuse and trash collection companies.
The Recycling Bureau will also accept car tires and batteries at the drive, Hawk said. Automotive batteries will be recycled for free, but there is a $2 per tire recycling fee. ($3 for tires on rims)
The recycling bureau has partnered with Advanced Green Solutions, a private waste recycling company, to dispose of the collected items. Most of the revenue from fees collected at the drive will go to cover the cost of recycling the items people drop off - which can be time-consuming because of environmental regulations, Hawk said. Any revenue left after expenses
will go to the city of Bethlehem’s general fund, she added.
