Retired Physician to Host Fourth Piano Recital for Parkinson’s Research in Allentown, PA, on Saturday, September 24
Proceeds Benefit the Parkinson's Disease Foundation
WHAT: The fourth piano recital to benefit the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) organized by Gene Ginsberg, M.D., will take place on Saturday, September 24. Friends and supporters from the community are invited to join for an afternoon of music. Since 2015, Dr. Ginsberg has raised over $10,000 for PDF.
WHO: Dr. Ginsberg of Allentown, PA, is a retired geriatric physician who lives with Parkinson’s. He is partnering with the PDF Champions program, the grassroots fundraising arm of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation® (PDF®), to raise funds for research. PDF supports the scientific research and ideas that will improve the lives and future of people who are touched by Parkinson’s disease. Since its founding in 1957, PDF has invested more than $165 million in research, education and advocacy programs.
WHY: Dr. Ginsberg is among the one million Americans living with Parkinson’s, a chronic and progressive movement disorder. “I have been living with Parkinson’s for more than ten years,” said Dr. Ginsberg. “My optimism has motivated me to keep playing the piano and entertaining people, while raising awareness and funds to support PDF, an organization that has helped me through its mission of education and research. I hope this year’s concert — back by ‘popular demand,’ — will be as great of a success as the last three in raising funds for PDF research programs.” Although research is promising, there is currently no cure for Parkinson’s disease.
