Broughal Marching Band Leads Parade to SteelStacks

Lights on Afterschool rally draws attention to after school programs for children.

Members of the Broughal Rocket Marching Band led the way for the Lights On Afterschool parade Thursday evening, as students, teachers, and parents paraded through South Bethlehem as part of the national Lights On Afterschool rally for after-school programs.

Beginning at the school, the parade ran along the Greenway, ending at SteelStacks, where the blast furnaces were light blue and gold, Broughal's colors, in support of afterschool programs and the national day of awareness of their importance to the community.

The 12th annual Lights On Afterschool is an initiative of the Afterschool Alliance, which advocates for funding and support for after school programs for children.
