Second Harvest Food Bank receives 225 turkeys and $1,500 from GIANT Food Stores' Feeding Our Neighbors Everyday campaign
Nearly $90,000 in turkeys and cash donated in three states

GIANT Food Stores’ “Feeding Our Neighbors Everyday” holiday campaign supported Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania’s annual turkey drive with 225 turkeys and $1,500 to the food bank to use to purchase food when it needs it most, after the holidays.
“While food banks receive increased donations during the holiday season, these donations tend to slow down early in the New Year, even though the need doesn’t,” said
Tom Lenkevich, GIANT president. “Feeding our neighbors every day is part of GIANT’s mission, but we can’t do it alone, and we need your help to end hunger in the Lehigh Valley.”

“Our year-round partnership with GIANT is an essential part of the way that we work to feed more than 65,000 people throughout the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania every month,” said Paul Lynch, director of Second Harvest Food Bank. “It’s also wonderful during the holiday season to bring these special foods and maybe some joy to families in need.”
According to Second Harvest Food Bank, the donation of 225 turkeys can help feed nearly 1,000 people.
