Michael Snyder, retired public school teacher, will examine the military and political events of the long summer of 1864: Grant's efforts to destroy Lee; Sherman's maneuvers against the Army of Tennessee; the ups and downs in the Shenandoah Valley; and Lincoln's efforts to win his second term. Classes meet Tuesdays, March 4 through April 8, 2014.
