Viewfinder: Hurricanes Fall to Nazareth 42-41

Touchdown, 2-point conversion with 38 seconds left cap big comeback for Blue Eagles.

Daniel Harding completed a 31 yard pass to Adam Bridgeforth, then completed another pass in a two-point conversion with 38 seconds left in the game to cap a come-from-behind 42-41 victory for the Nazareth Blue Eagles, who spoiled Liberty’s first home game on Friday night.

Harding completed 27 of 39 passes for 395 yards and four touchdowns, according to the Express-Times. Hurricanes quarterback James McCarthy had a big night of his own, rushing for 215 yards on 20 carries.

Liberty, which fell to 2-1 on the season, led 34-13 at the half. Nazareth is now 3-0.

In other Bethlehem area high school football action, the Freedom Patriots rolled over the Allen Canaries 76-0. Freedom remains an undefeated 3-0, while Allen falls to 0-3.

Freedom tailback Okezie Alozie scored the first two of Freedom’s 11 touchdowns and now has eight on the season.
