Viewfinder: Time Travel to Burnside Plantation
The "Farm in the City" was among Historic Bethlehem Partnership properties that observed Community Day with special programs on April 2.
Saturday was "Community Day" for the Historic Bethlehem Partnetrship, which opened museums and buildings to the public for free. More than 100 people toured 1748 Burnside Plantation, the first private Moravian home in the city.
Volunteers in period dress answered questions as visitors explored the gardens, barns, farmhouse and summer kitchen.
Burnside Plantation is located at 1461 Schoenersville Road and sits in the shadow of another prominent Bethlehem property - Martin Tower - the once-bustling but now vacant headquarters of Bethlehem Steel.
