The Wankers Bring the Ultimate Britpop Experience to Musikfest

Oasis may have reunited, but fans don't need a passport to experience the soundtrack of the best Britain bands of the ‘80s and ‘90s. The Wankers will bring their high-energy Britpop and New Wave tribute show to Musikfest on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at PNC Stadtplatz.

Known as the Ultimate Britpop/New Wave Experience, The Wankers recreate the music, style and swagger of some of the United Kingdom's most beloved bands. Their set features hits by Oasis, Coldplay, Blur, The Smiths, The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, The Clash, Duran Duran and many more.

More than a tribute band, The Wankers combine top-notch musicianship with quick-witted British humor, authentic costumes and audience participation that transforms every performance into a sing-along celebration. Whether fans grew up with college radio or simply appreciate timeless rock anthems, the band's energetic performance delivers a nostalgic night of music and fun.

"It's not just a concert, it's a full-on British invasion," said lead singer Damon Gallagher. "We want audiences singing, dancing and laughing from the first song to the last. Doesn’t matter if you’re Team Oasis or Team Blur, you’ll have a blast!"

The performance is part of Musikfest, the nation's largest free, non-gated music festival, featuring hundreds of performances across multiple stages throughout Bethlehem through Aug. 9.
