A countywide hearing that morning in Smethport will also gather ideas on projects like housing rehab, infrastructure, and park or accessibility improvements benefiting low- to moderate-income households.

2. Free tuition coming this fall for eligible students at Pitt's regional campuses (pennlive.com) — Starting in fall 2026, eligible Pennsylvania residents at Pitt-Bradford will pay no tuition if their household income is $75,000 or less, thanks to the new Pitt Regional Campus Tuition Pledge. The program covers remaining tuition after other aid for new, current, and transfer students, though housing, meals, and fees aren’t included. Bradford families simply need to file the FAFSA each year to qualify automatically.

3. Former Pitt-Bradford Employee Endows Scholarship To Honor Family (solomonswords.net) — A longtime Bradford resident and former Pitt-Bradford staffer has endowed the new Full STEW Ahead scholarship to help make college more affordable for McKean County and Pennsylvania students attending Pitt-Bradford. The award honors her late parents and sister while reinforcing the campus’s role as a community anchor. Interested residents are encouraged to contact Pitt-Bradford’s philanthropy office to learn about creating similar scholarships.

4. Patricia McGinnis (bradfordera.com) — Bradford friends are remembering C. Patricia McGinnis, a longtime Bradford and Westminster resident who passed away May 31 after a life of service, travel, and deep family connections. A Bradford High School graduate and former Pennzoil employee, she was active in church and volunteer work; a memorial service is planned June 16 in Thornton, Colorado.
