Join Newtown and Marple Historic Societies as we celebrate Marple-Newtown Historic Day and America 250,&nbsp; opening 11 sites for tours and events on June 6th from 11 to 4pm. A full listing of all sites and events&nbsp; can be found on Newtown Square Historical Society's&nbsp; web page www.nshistory.org and Marple Historical Society web page www.marplehistorical society.org. Featured events are Massey House with tours and living history demonstrations, 1742 Square Tavern with tours and live performances inside where it happened,&nbsp; at 12:30 and 2pm as patrons in 1776 learn of the signing for Independence. Paper Mill House will offer basket weaving workshop and sale, Live Music with the Time Travelers, Container Meadow Garden and Birdtown Exhibit, Art Exhibit and refreshments. Bartram Covered Bridge invites the public to sail their model boat on the Crum Creek with prizes for the most seaworthy. Octagonal School offers 1800's school experience. All sites offer tours, St Davids Church, St. Albans Episcopal Church, Friends Meeting House, Newtown Train and Trolley Museum, Hayti Cemetery, and Stoney Lonesome private residence in Marple.&nbsp; Free.&nbsp;

Delco Guitar Studios

A lot of my group class students expressed an interest in taking a music theory class, so starting June 15th, I will be offering just that! This class is for anyone who wants to learn more about topics such as how chords get their names, what exactly are keys, and why should I learn scales? Although this class is geared toward guitar players, any instrumentalist is welcome to join. We’ll cover the basics such as the names of the notes, the major scale formula, and how the basic chords are constructed from the notes in the key. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the material. This class will run for 6 sessions on Mondays at 7:30pm – 8:30 from June 15th through July 27th. No class will be held on July 13th. The cost will be $180 for all 6 sessions, so $30 per class.&nbsp; Click the link below to sign up!
