AIS Student From Bryn Mawr Signs Letter of Intent

Each year, The Agnes Irwin School graduates a number of talented athletes trained in a range of sports both on and off campus. This year, the pool contains five such athletes – Ryshena Providence ’14, Bridget Chakey ’14, Morgan Pergolini ’14, Lauren Fabiano ’14, and Gigi Geary ’14 – each of whom have signed commitment letters or National Letters of Intent in the past week to play in Division I collegiate sports programs.
Signing a National Letter of Intent to play at the Division I level are the following students:

- Ryshena Providence of Yeadon to play tennis at Drexel University
- Lauren Fabiano of Malvern to ride hunt seat at the University of South Carolina
- Gigi Geary of Bryn Mawr to cox for crew at Duquesne University
Signing a Commitment Letter to play at the Division I level are the following students:
- Bridget Chakey of Havertown to play lacrosse for Syracuse University
- Morgan Pergolini of Havertown to play lacrosse for Virginia Commonwealth University
“We are very happy for our athletes who have signed college commitment letters, along with all of our other athletes,” said Athletic Director Sheila Pauley. “Their signings are a direct result of the hard work and dedication that they have demonstrated to allow themselves the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. They have challenged themselves both academically and athletically to create these tremendous opportunities, and we wish them nothing but the best.”

The last five years have seen 36 student-athletes graduating from The Agnes Irwin School commit to Division 1, 2 and 3 schools, including Bucknell University, George Mason University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Duke University, University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. The girls from these classes went on to continue successful collegiate careers in lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, squash, cross country and track and ski racing.
