Alba Martinez, Esq. Named to Main Line Health Board of Governors
Alba Martinez, Esq., a principal in Vanguard's Retail Investor Group, has been elected to the Board of Governors of Main Line Health. Since May 2010, Martinez has led Vanguard's Core and Voyager Services, a business group of 600 investment professionals and leaders that provide investment guidance and services to five million of Vanguard's direct investors.
Prior to joining Vanguard, Martinez served as president and CEO of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania from 2004-2008. In 2000, Martinez was appointed by Philadelphia's Mayor as commissioner of the Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS), the city's largest operating department.

Active in civic affairs, Martinez's memberships include the Devereux Foundation's national board of directors, the Comcast Corporation-NBC Universal Joint Diversity Council Executive Committee and vice chair of its Hispanic Advisory Council and Congreso's Cultivating Futures Campaign Cabinet. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including an Honorary Doctorate from Arcadia University, the University of Pennsylvania Fels School of Government Leadership for Results Award and Philadelphia Business Journal's Women of Distinction Award.
