opportunities for students, faculty and staff to celebrate student success, show gratitude to supporters and promote planning for the future welcoming new students and families through Open Houses.
St. Margaret School, known locally as the ‘small school with a big heart’ has continued to promote academic excellence as witnessed with high school scholarship opportunities for students year after year. Whether through integrated language arts currently optimized
with classroom based technology advancements including smart boards or the advanced math preparation beginning 4th grade which promotes smaller class sizes for all math classes, St. Margaret strives to produce academic excellence for each and every student.

Through service projects and school wide nationally
known, ‘Kids Care Club’ activities students learned first hand ‘giving back has rewards'. These selfless opportunities for growth are explored first hand when
students help plan for community based projects that fill needs within the area while working with fellow students, faculty and parent mentors. These projects include preparing baskets and gifts for home bound parish members, food collections in support of Mercy
Neighborhood, supplying necessities for woman’s shelters and creating a ‘learn and live library’ for Youth Services, a community-based social service organization dedicated to strengthening the family, helping at risk teens and
promoting child safety in Philadelphia.
Catholic School week celebrations started with a “Buddy Reading” program where all students were teamed up with other classrooms to shared book reading with each other. Students enjoyed this community activity abundantly sharing favorite books, short stories and
time generating enthusiastic responses by everyone. A “Nutrition assembly brought interesting fact and practices to the students in support of year round planned
‘wellness’ activities. Student Appreciation day brings a break from the standard uniforms as students and teachers show off ‘spirit wear’. Everyone enjoys and cheers loudly for the 8th grade boys vs. 8th grade girls basketball scrimmage as well as the shoot off during half time for
‘school mascot’ vs. Colleen Molchany, 7th grade teacher. The week concludes with a ‘faculty appreciation luncheon’, daily prayers for families and parish members who support Catholic education, armed service workers for their
safety, special intentions for every student and prayers for the dedicated faculty.
