Burglars Target Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne Homes This Weekend

In a string of six burglary incidents that occurred this weekend, homes in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne were among the victims, police said.

BRYN MAWR-GLADWYNE, PA – Burglars targeted homes in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne this weekend, according to Lower Merion Township Police.

Police said sometime between Friday Feb. 9 and Sunday Feb. 11, a home on the 1200 block of Lafayette Road in Gladwyne was entered.

The suspects got inside the home through a second-floor window, police said.

It's unclear what if anything was taken, police said.

Additionally, sometime between Saturday Feb. 10 and Sunday Feb. 11 a residential burglary occurred in the 800 block of Old Gulph Road in Bryn Mawr.

Entry into the residence was gained via a second-floor window.

Electronics and jewelry were taken.

Police said six total burglary incidents occurred this weekend in the township.

Two people were arrested in connection with one, police said. However, its unclear if they are tied to the other burglaries that occurred during this time.

All of the burglaries occurred between Feb. 9 and Feb. 11 at homes and a business across the Lower Merion Township.

At about 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, a home on the 1500 block of James Road in Wynnewood was burglarized, police said,

After getting inside the home by forcing open a back window, the suspects stole jewelry and musical instruments.

Two people were arrested.

Anthony McDaniels, 48, and Leroy Boose, 57, have been charged with felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, felony receiving stolen property, and related charges.


On Saturday, Feb. 10 at approximately 6:20 p.m. officers responding to an alarm discovered a burglary in the 100 Block of David Road in Bala Cynwyd.

Entry into the residence was gained by forcing a rear sun room window.

It is unknown what was taken.


On Saturday, Feb. 10 at approximately 7 p.m. officers responding to an alarm activation in the 200 Block of River Road in Gladwyne discovered an attempt to enter a second-floor window.


On Sunday, Feb. 11 at approximately 5 a.m. a commercial burglary occurred at Giannini Jewelers located at 15 East Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.

Entry into the business was gained by breaking a glass door.
