Harriton House hosts the annual heirloom apple tasting and baking contest this Saturday, October 24th, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
Sample varieties of apples not typically found in your local grocery store including those prized for eating, baking, and sauce. While this has been a difficult year for apple production with several orchards we normally source from reporting as much as 90% of their crop lost, we will have apples available. In addition to apples for tasting, there will also be a limited supply available for purchase so plan to arrive at 2:00 pm for the best selection.
Bakers are encouraged to enter the contest which features not only bragging rights but beautiful ribbons for first, second, and third place in the Adult and Junior divisions. The ribbons and prizes in the form of gift cards have been donated by the King Arthur Baking Company. There are no restrictions on the number of entries per baker. The only rule is that your creation/s much contain a King Arthur Flour product with proof-of-purchase required. To enter the contest fill out this form: forms.gle/d3cZPxzwSdZmGbnn8
