NYT Best Selling Author Marie Benedict Brings Her Novel to Philadelphia
New York Times best-selling author Marie Benedict will visit Philadelphia on May 6, 2026, during a national book tour promoting her latest novel, Daughter of Egypt, and to advocate for education opportunities for young women and to support the BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools) scholarship program ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Education Income Tax Credit (EITC) program.
Benedict, a powerful voice in historical fiction who champions underrepresented women, returns with a tale of a young woman who unearths the truth about the forgotten Pharaoh Hatshepsut, whose reign was bold, visionary — and nearly erased from history.
