Early Renaissance Art with Dr. Sharon Hirsh

Join Rosemont College president Sharon Latchaw Hirsh, Ph.D. ’70 for a special coffee lecture as part of Rosemont’s non-credit program, the Forum. This semester, Dr. Hirsh will cover early Renaissance art. The 14th and 15th centuries in Italy were times of incredible change in how the world and the world order were perceived. This class will investigate how these basic philosophical and religious perceptions were expressed in the art of those times. The works of well known artists such as Giotto, Donatello, Masaccio, Botticelli, and Fra Angelico will be discussed, as well as many lesser known artists of this fascinating period.
