The Bryn Mawr College Chapter of She’s The First and Project Educate in Africa invite you to an evening of poetry readings and a talk by non-profit founder Tammy Tibbetts.
Ms. Tibbetts, a fashion editor at Seventeen Magazine, founded She’s The First in 2009 after reading an article about women in Liberia. The non-profit is the second one Ms. Tibbetts has founded.
She’s The First provides scholarships to women who are the first in their families to attend secondary school. Learn more at http://www.shesthefirst.org/.
Admission is FREE, but we will be selling baked goods, international crafts, the new She's The First poetry anthology, and accepting donations to support a scholarship for a young woman in Tanzania. Learn more about the fundraising goal at http://www.shesthefirst.org/2011/03/africaid-kisa-project/ .
To submit your poetry, email shesthefirst.brynmawr@gmail.com by 5pm on Wednesday, March 28.
