Federal Donuts Coming To Main Line Whole Foods Store

MAIN LINE, PA — The Main Line is getting its own outpost of one of Philadelphia's premier donut and fried chicken purveyors.

Federal Donuts announced Wednesday that it is coming to the Wynnewood Whole Foods Market, 15 E Wynnewood Road in Wynnewood.

A Federal Donuts representative told Patch the location will open in May.

The location in Whole Foods will offer Federal Donuts' "Fancy" donuts as well as the classics — Old Fashioned Glazed, Dark Chocolate Glazed, and Chocolate Cake Old Fashioned.

A full La Colombe coffee bar will also which includes the Donut Latte, made with espresso with steamed milk that has been steeped in donuts & warm spices and finished with a dusting of baharat spice.

There is no word on whether fried chicken will be offered at a later date.

Federal Donuts is part of the CookNSolo restaurant group, which owns highly lauded establishments such as Zahav, Abe Fisher, and K'far.

Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, the owners of CookNSolo, have three James Beard Foundation Awards under their belt. Solomonov himself was awarded two additional Beard Awards for his work as Chef of Zahav.

This will mark the first Federal Donuts location outside the city proper.

Federal Donuts is also looking to hire baristas for the location.
