Mail Stolen From Residential Mailbox In Bryn Mawr Friday: Police

This theft occurred on Boxwood Road Friday and adds to the recent thefts from mailboxes reported last week on various Radnor streets.

BRYN MAWR, PA — Police in Radnor Township reported another mail theft incident Monday.

According to police, the theft occurred Friday morning in Bryn Mawr.

A resident on the 400 block of Boxwood Road in Bryn Mawr said mail left in their mailbox for the mail carrier was taken some time between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday.

Police said the resident thought the mail carrier took the mail, but learned it was stolen when the mail carrier came by later.

Thefts from mailboxes have increased in Radnor Township recently.

Police reported thefts from mailboxes on Brookside Avenue, Harrison, Yorkshire, Newtown, Ridgewood, and Upper Gulph roads.

In most cases, the thieves steal mail containing personal checks often made out to pay bills, then alter the checks to cash them for themselves.
