“We believed there was an appetite and the audience was right for Spread to find a location on the Main Line,” said Rob Brown, Vice President of MVP Capital Partners. “We anticipate more on the horizon and are actively discussing other opportunities.”

The company will also soon open its new “Spreadquarters” at 2401 Walnut St., in the space formerly occupied by the restaurant 24.

In addition to providing a café for customers with outdoor seating along the banks of the Schuylkill River, the approximately 8,000 square foot location will serve as a central kitchen servicing its restaurants in the area as well as its new online shipping business. Spread also plans to dedicate some of the space for collaborations with other Philadelphia-based brands.

"Our Spreadquarters will serve as the nerve center of our whole company," Larry Rosenblum, founder and President of Spread Bagelry said. "Our corporate offices, a commissary for our other locations, a co-cooking space for some of our partners – much like you see with co-working spaces – and a café that we know our customers will love."

Richard Jumbo has been hired as the Vice President/General Manager, joining Spread from a number of successful food and beverage organizations including Lee’s Hoagie House and Insomnia Cookies. He will focus on the day-to-day operations of Spread’s locations.

Peter Gattoni has been hired as Vice President of Financial Operations. Gattoni has more than two decades of financial experience and worked as the Vice President of Finance for Soul Cycle during its growth phase. A national search is ongoing for a Chief Operating Officer.

"There are so many exciting things happening with our company – inside and out," Rosenblum said. "We are only just starting to reach some of the areas where we know demand for our product is strong, but as we grow, we will never compromise the quality of our products or our commitment to the communities we serve,"

Spread Bagelry was founded in its original location in 2010 on 20th Street in Philadelphia’s upscale Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. Spread was the first to bring Montreal-style wood oven bagels into the national bagel debate, and launched a second location in University City, on the University of Pennsylvania campus, in 2016.
