GLADWYNE, PA — The Main Line's food scene continues to grow, as Gladwyne has a new cafe.

Homeroom is now open at 358 Righters Mill Road in Gladwyne in the former Green Bean Coffee space where Homeroom's owner worked in the past.

Chef Henry Morgan opened Homeroom as his first concept after working for CookNSolo, the restaurant group behind Zahav, Federal Donuts, Goldie, and more.

Homeroom's menu features seasonally driven breakfast and lunch options.

Featured menu items, some of which take inspiration from Morgan’s Jewish background and culinary experience, include signatures like a Za'atar Chicken Salad Sandwich served with greens and vinaigrette; Eggplant Sandwich with crispy roasted eggplant, iceberg lettuce, and sweet red pepper sauce (Morgan’s vegan take on a BLT, which substitutes roasted eggplant for bacon); Smoked Salmon Toast with Biederman’s Eastern Nova smoked salmon, caper and dill labneh, radish, and cucumber; and Pistachio Cake with labneh frosting. Merzbacher’s and Baker Street Bread Co. bread, Biederman’s smoked salmon, Kismet Bagels and OT Foods granola highlight Morgan’s focus on local ingredients. Extending that local food community thread to the coffee program, local coffee maker Ox Coffee is front and center.

A design-forward retail collection features small-batch objects, including local ceramics from Teresa Chang, who also created the custom plateware for Homeroom; handmade brushes from Norway-based artist Poppy Lawman, and other beautiful finds from around the world.

"I'm very excited to be able to do what I love most: make people feel good through food and hospitality, in a space that has such sentimental value to me," Morgan said. "Reimagining this space in which I worked nearly a decade ago with both Lauren and Melissa feels very full-circle. Having the opportunity to once again serve the community that I grew up in means so much, and I am looking forward to helping recapture the bustling energy that Gladwyne Village once thrived on."

Homeroom is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. operate Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
