At one of my massage therapy sessions with my body worker he had suggested trigeminal neuralgia treatment. Trigeminal neuralgia is a CHRONIC PAIN condition that affects the trigeminal or 5th cranial nerve, one of the largest nerves in the head. The disorder causes extreme, sporadic, sudden burning or shock-like face pain that lasts anywhere from a few seconds to as long as 2 minutes per episode. These attacks can occur in quick succession. The intensity of pain can be physically and mentally incapacitating.
Spine Pain and Trigeminal Neuralgia Treatment
He thought maybe the cause of my neck pain was because of the trigeminal nerve. So he did specific cranial work to help this area.
Then a few months later I started to work with LARA LOGAN at BODYLOGIC PILATES with her body reading assessment. Lara Logan is probably the most brilliant diagnostician I have ever encountered. Coming from me that is not a light compliment. I have literally worked with at least a few dozen health care practitioners, most of them with advanced degrees and all kinds of impressive credentials and none of them could actually properly diagnose what was going on with me. Some of the things they said were downright dumb-ass retarded.

I started to realize that if I wanted to feel free from my neck and spine pain I was going to have to become a lot more educated.
LARA LOGAN was able to assess and properly diagnose what was CAUSING MY PAIN. Even body parts that did not seem to be connected ( my knees and my forehead) made sense when she and AIMEE BAKER were able to educate me about strain patterns and how tissue wraps around the body. Lara assured me that I wasn’t special… my case was just layered.

I didn’t want to be special. I had so many doctors tell me that my case was a mystery and I was one of the most difficult cases to try and solve. ( They were all unsuccessful). I didn’t want to win any prizes from them for being a tough case.
When I understood how a band of tissue that starts at the back of you head, wraps around you ribs, down your sacrum, then down the side of your leg and all the way to the bottom of your foot and then makes it’s way back up the body it started to make sense to me how I had gotten painful and chronic body parts in distant parts of my body.
I was put on a protocol that was mostly home-based that consisted of MYOFASCIAL RELEASE with foam rollers, balls, YAMUNA FOOT WAKERS as well as specific exercises that were designed to bring back mobility and range of motion in my spine, hips and ribs as well as exercises that strengthened my upper back, core and quads.
I spend about 90 minutes a day (sometimes more) doing these exercises and stretches. When I watch tv or webinars I am doing these movements and stretches. I have been doing them for a few weeks now and each day the bite of the pain lessens a bit. My pain used to be excruciating, around a level 9.5 and today I woke up and it was about a 5-6. I can see the doors to the promised land where my daily life is not aboutEXCRUCIATING PAIN and all my thoughts are not consumed by how can I escape this pain.
Working with the staff at Bodylogic has left me feeling empowered. They told me what I did on my own was going to determine how quickly and how much I progressed. That was a relief to know I could be in control of my own health and wellness as opposed to a chiropractor that recently told me that I would have to come in 2-3 times a week for at least 6 months. (which I did and I didn’t feel better at all)
