Villanova Wants to Add Housing, Retail, Theater

 is preparing to present its plan to build new housing for about 1,100 students and a bookstore, convenience store and eatery on its campus.

The $200-million-plus project, which will be built on what is now two parking lots on Lancaster Avenue, could reduce the impact of students living in surrounding neighborhoods like Bryn Mawr, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Lower Merion police recently , which aims to preemptively address potential issues with students living in town.

The school will go in front of Radnor Township's Board of Commissioners on Feb. 13.

The proposed plans for the area also include a parking structure to accomodate approximately 1,800 vehicles and a Performing Arts Center to support Villanova Theatre, Student Theatre, and related campus programs.
