A Message From The Frank Sarris Public Library

The suspense is almost over: An opening date for the new multi-million dollar facility has been set.

It’s time to close the book on the Greater Canonsburg Public Library!

The library, which is currently located in the borough building in Canonsburg, will close at 8 p.m. June 2.

Susan Poore, president of the Canonsburg-Cecil-North Strabane Library Association
says a new chapter will begin with the relocation to the new 30,000-square foot Frank Sarris Public Library at 35 N. Jefferson Avenue.

“This library will be community center," she said in a statement. "We will have public meeting rooms, study rooms, and conference rooms for rent, a beautiful new Children’s Department with a storytime room, a Young Adult Department that has lots of computers and room for the tweens and teens to gather, a local history and genealogy department, a career center and so much more.”

The CCNSPLA is the governing body which operates the library. It is composed of
representatives from the area which the library serves—Canonsburg, Cecil
Township, North Strabane Township and the Canon-McMillan School District.

The community is invited to join us for the ribbon cutting of your new Frank Sarris
Public Library at 11 a.m. June 15th.

The Library’s hours of operation will continue to be: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
