UPDATED: A Splash of Color
The Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department responded with absorbent pads and sand when a truck driver said his tailgate failed, dumping gallons of white paint onto Pike Street near N. Jefferson Avenue Friday afternoon.

Canonsburg Mayor David H. Rhome said Pike Street and North Jefferson Avenue should be completely reopen to traffic at around 4 p.m.Ā

Canonsburg police said members of the borough's volunteer fire department were "diligent" Friday afternoon in their efforts to clean up paint that was splashed onto Pike Street before it could make its way into a nearby storm drain.
Police and fire officials indicated that a truck driver said he was unloading the paint when the tailgate failed, causing gallons of paint to crash and spill onto Pike Street around 12:30 p.m.
