Share your home to the world and make a global connection: Host an YFU Exchange Student.

Each year, YFU USA, a leading international high school student exchange for more than 60 years, welcomes 3,000 high school students from more than 60 countries into communities like Cannon-McMillan. These students are eager to attend a local high school, live with a host family and discover what America is all about.

YFU-USA is always looking for supportive host families. By hosting an YFU Exchange Student, you and your family will help build bridges of intercultural understanding at home and abroad while connecting with an outstanding young person.

“I will share that having Sohee was a blessing for our family,” said, host mother Missy Gebhard. “Sohee was with us for 10th grade, finished her high school education at a boarding school in VA. She just finished her freshman year at the University of CA at Berkeley. We communicate regularly. We have met her parents. Tia, our daughter, has visited Korea. Sohee's parents have said we are her USA parents. And we consider them Tia's parents. We enjoyed every minute of hosting the year Sohee was with us. We enjoy continuing that relationship. She's our second daughter and Tia's sister!”

Host families provide a bed and meals, share their daily lives with students, and help guide and support students as they would their own children. Families and their hosted students receive ongoing support from YFU USA Staff and experienced, local volunteers.
