Borough police are investigating both incidents.

A Canonsburg woman told borough police Wednesday that someone had broken into her Giffen Avenue home some time the night before while she was at work.

Darlene V. Dami told police that when she returned home, she noticed that the screen in a window she always keeps open had been cut.

Dami also discovered a knife blade that had been left on her kitchen floor, which police entered into evidence. It was not immediately clear what, if anything, was taken from Dami's home.
