Blotter: Canonsburg Police Get Reports of Minor Fights at Oktoberfest, Other Incidents
Canonsburg police are investigating numerous incidents.

A few people must have mistaken the signs as saying "Oktoberfist" instead of during the annual festival over the weekend.
Canonsburg police were called Sept. 17 to West Pike Street at North Jefferson after a report that two female teens were punched by teenage boy while attending the festival. The youth will be cited for two two counts of harassment after his mother is notified.
In a separate incident on Sept. 18, two females got into a fight while attending the festival and one reported punched the other in the face near the corner of Murdock Street and North Jefferson.

Dead body found in house
A man on a cell phone reported to police that a dead body was inside a home in the 600 block of Woodland Road on Sept. 18. Upon arrival, a police officer saw the man on the floor of the kitchen and, after getting no reponse, entered the home.

The Washington County coroner was called to the scene. An empty bottle of prescription Paroxetine was found in the 27-year-old man's pants pocket.
Police called the man who reported the incident, who had left the scene. He told police he had retrieved a notebook he had left at the residence, found the man on the floor and called police, but did not remain there because of outstanding warrants for his arrest.
No stopping him
A motorist traveling west on East College Street ran into a stop sign at the corner of Ashland Avenue on Sept. 17. The sign was temporarily fixed at the intersection.
Cause of "boom" undetermined
A loud noise, described as a "boom" was heard near the corner of Greenside and Vine on Sept. 15, but police did not find out what made the sound.
Missing items
A woman reported to police on Sept. 16 that her birth certificate, car title and a global-positioning system had been taken from her East College Street home. She told them she suspected her ex-boyfriend, who had moved out.
Disturbance
Polce were called to the lot behind Karen's Korner for a report of 20 juveniles causing a disturbance. By the time officers got to the scene, the crowd apparently had dispersed.
Water break
A large water break that caused a 60-foot tower of water to shoot into the air on Sept. 18 flooded the basements and garages of two homes on Weaver Street.
