Blotter: Middle School Student Cited for Pot Possession

Canonsburg police also reported a fight and criminal mischief.

on Friday cited a student with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of tobacco on school property.

According to a police report, Canonsburg Middle School Principal Greg Taranto called to say he had received a tip that the boy was bringing marijuana to school. When school officials confronted him, police said they discovered two small baggies of marijuana and a pipe. They also found a pack of cigarettes.

School officials asked that a juvenile petition be filed, and the boy has been suspended from classes, according to police.

Fight in North Strabane

Canonsburg police assisted North Strabane with a fight that reportedly occured at Rockin' Willies on state Route 19 just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

According to a report, a caller indicated that 30 people were "actively fighting" but that the aggressors had fled before police arrived.

Police said no citations had been issued.

Criminal Mischief Reported

Paul Correll told police on Friday evening that someone had shattered the door of the Papa John's Pizza on Cavasina Drive. A ball was seen lying on the sidewalkĀ  nearby, according to a report.
