Bukovinski said a passing motorist called 911 to report the fire at 6:55 p.m. Friday on Red Lane off Georgetown Road, and that when first responders arrived on scene, they discovered a yellow 2001 school bus aflame in the parking lot.
The fire was extinguished, and there was no damage to the garage itself, he said.
Bukovinski said fire officials believed the blaze, which originanated in the engine of the bus, was electrical in nature.
Copper Stolen
Ericsson Services Inc. reported that copper plating and about 6-feet of grounding copper was stolen from a cell tower on Lewicki Road near Southpointe Saturday morning.
Bukovinski said there were no signs of forced entry to the area, which is fenced in. The stolen copper, he said, was valued at about $1,500.
