Before They Were Movies
Movies, books, and movies based on books...Check them out at your library!

The weekend seems an appropriate time to be talking of movies, but being the book-oriented sort, I can't help but to make the connection between recent and upcoming movies and the novels on which they were based.
Of course, I must also mention that the Frank Sarris Public Library has a fair number of movies, books, and movies based on books! Read on for information about just a few:
The Hunger Games has been causing quite a stir lately, and the movie won't be released for another week (March 23rd, to be exact). If you're thinking that you can get a "sneak preview" by reading the books, well, let's just say that you're not the only one to think that! Fortunately, we have multiple copies of each Suzanne Collins book in this series, so the waiting list shouldn't be too terribly long.

For the adults out there, a number of widely varying options exist. At one end of the spectrum is the recently released One for the Money, an action-comedy based on Janet Evanovich's works. You can, of course, find all 18 segments of this best-selling series at the Frank Sarris Public Library!
If Stephanie Plum's fictional antics aren't to your liking, perhaps you'd want to give Kathryn's Stockett's The Help a try. The novel is set in the Mississippi of the early 1960's and spent many, many weeks on the New York Times' Best Sellers list—both it and the DVD version are available for borrowing at your friendly, local library...Come on in and check them out!
